The jubilee may be well and truly over now, but don’t go rushing to pack those Union Jacks away just yet! The Olympic Games kick off on the 27th July, so today I’m looking at some of the best Olympic-themed cross stitch kits. However, I’ve decided to show you some of the more… unusual ones!
After all, who says that the competitors have to be human? The Synchronised Yawn kit is simply adorable, showing three cats proudly wearing their medals. The fantastic thing about this kit is that the finished product can be displayed for years to come, whether there’s a bit sporting event on or not! Also, you don’t need to be the world’s most experienced stitcher to complete this kit, either!
Of course, if you are looking for a challenge, Maia’s London cross stitch kit is simply stunning. Probably one of the most iconic views of our capital, the gorgeous use of colour helps transform the scene into something truly beautiful. Like the previous cross stitch kit, the finished design is easily one that can be displayed on your wall long after the Olympics have finished.

Personally, I find that starting a cross stitch kit is the perfect way to get excited about a big event, whether it’s for a wedding, the birth of a new baby or the Olympic Games!
