Whether you're an avid crafter, seasoned stitcher or haven't picked up a knitting needle in years, we need your help! One of our biggest suppliers DMC Creative is raising money and awareness for The Pink Ribbon Foundation at Kirstie Allsopp's The Handmade Fair. With hundreds of people all around the world already getting involved in the #myDMCpink campaign, we're always one stitch closer to helping them build the world's biggest, pinkest ribbon!

How Can I Get Involved?

We're encouraging as many of you crafty lot as we can to stitch, embroider, tapestry or whatever takes your fancy. The only requirements are that it has to be pink and little! You can find the full pointers of what is required and further information here.

Once your piece is complete you will need to send your pretty in pink piece to the following address in order for it to help create the world's biggest pink ribbon: (please note that it will need to be finished and arrive in time for the 5th September)

Alternatively, if you've got tickets to head along to The Handmade Fair between 16-18th September, you can pin your very own pink beauty onto the installation.

Any Templates Or Ideas On What I Could Make?

Where do we start? If you don't have any favourite templates to hand DMC are here to help inspire you, they're posting free patterns on their social media running up to the event, and there is plenty of pinkspiration over on their youtube channel, highlighting some of their own Pink Ribbon projects. You can't go wrong with this traditional Pink Ribbon cross stitch chart that you can download for free on the DMC homepage.

There's plenty of other fantastic free downloadable charts that they're sharing on Facebook everyday. We also love the idea of taking a small section from perhaps a favourite cross stitch pattern, photocopying it and cutting off the desired area that you want to cross stitch, for example maybe it's a pair of shoes or a heart that you really like, remembering it has to be quite small! You can then complete the cross stitch with as many different coloured pink threads as you want, DMC have plenty on offer for all your pink needs!

For those short on time, but have plenty of enthusiasm, even the smallest thing could help us. A pink pom pom, or a sparkly pink tassle would do just the job. We always think the pinker the better!! This easy peasy heart cross stitch kit would be perfect for the occasion, it's a great choice for beginners and children to get involved too!

One last thing - Don't forget to share your finished piece with us on social media , whilst tagging it with #MyDMCPink. We really hope you can help us support this brilliant charity with DMC and we can't wait to see your finished pieces!

Look out for our future blog posts on our Facebook Page,Twitter and over at Google+ and don't forget to let us know how you're getting involved with #MyDMCPink!
